Mr. Marty “Bubba” Harris Jr. age 34 of Carthage was pronounced dead on arrival at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center at 9:52 p.m. Sunday evening February 3, 2019.
Funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home were conducted Thursday morning February 7th at 10 a.m. Mr. Harris’s cousin, Michael “Woody” Woodard, delivered a eulogy and burial followed in the Harris family lot in Section Five at the Ridgewood Cemetery.
Born Marty Dewayne Harris Jr. in Carthage on June 15, 1984, he was one of two children of Marty Dewayne Harris Sr. and Jo Ann Martin Harris of Carthage.
Mr. Harris was saved at the age of 7 in 1991 under the preaching of the late Eld. R.D. Brooks and was baptized into the full fellowship of the East Carthage Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Harris was a line cook for Funderburk Management Corporation at their McDonalds in Cookeville.
He was a 2002 graduate of Smith County high School.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his two children, Kayden and Kyler Harris of Carthage; sister, Christy Harris McGregor and husband Scott of Frankfort, Kentucky.
