Ms. Crystal Padgett

Ms. Crystal Padgett of South Carthage died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday afternoon April 27, 2019 at the Vanderbilt University Center in Nashville where she was admitted April 22nd following a two year battle with leukemia. She was 37.

Bro. Jimmy Gregory officiated at the Wednesday afternoon May 1st funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Following the 1 p.m. services burial was in section three at the Ridgewood Cemetery.

She was born Crystal Sue Padgett in Bradenton in Manatee County, Florida on July 4, 1981 and was one of two children and is the daughter of Susan “Sue” Kay Mirkle Padgett Gibbons of South Carthage and Donald Ray (Don) Padgett of the Watervale Community.

Ms. Padgett was preceded in death by a step-brother, Joseph Andrew “Joey” Albritton who died at the age of 31 on July 20, 2014 from heart inflammation.

Ms. Padgett was a 2000 graduate of Smith County High School.

Before ill health beset her, she was employed with Prospect Inc. in Lebanon.

She attended the South Carthage Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents is her step-mother, Shelia Culbreath Padgett of the Watervale Community, Mrs. Gibbons fiancée, Jerry Greathouse; brother, Daniel Padgett and wife Jada Loftis Padgett and their children, Tucker, Beau, and Kolt and Joey’s son, Kyle Albritton of the Pleasant Shade Community; step-grandfather, Hubert Culbreath Jr. of the Watervale Community.
