OBIT: Mr. J.L. Dixon
Mr. J.L. Dixon, age 81 of Portland, TN died Sunday, December 8, 2019 at his home in Portland, TN. Mr. Dixon was born June 23, 1938 in Carthage, TN the son of the late Ottie and Nettie Bell Dixon.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wilbadene Dixon of Portland, TN. A son, Garry J. Dixon (Heather) of Portland, TN and a daughter, Thresia DePriest (Rick) of Portland, TN. A brother, Robert Dixon of Carthage, TN and a sister, Betty Jean York of Pleasant Shade, TN. Six grandchildren; J.D. DePriest, Benjamin DePriest, Richard DePriest, David DePriest, Halie Dixon-Clark and Halston Dixon. Eleven great grandchildren; Alexeia, Luke, Aleah, Lilly, Taylor, Addison, Emily, Caleb, Caiden, Zooey and Zeke. Finally, J.L was survived by his long time, loving companion dog, Lady Bell.
Along with his parents, Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Lee Dixon and a daughter, Rita Gail Dixon. Six brothers, Donald Dixon, Stoney Dixon, Glen Dixon, Jimmy Dixon, Jack Dixon, Prentice Dixon and a sister, Thelma Johnson.
The family has chosen cremation. There will be no services. Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN is honored to be in charge of Mr. Dixon’s arrangements.
