Obit – Ms. Mary Bullock

A South Carthage homemaker, Ms. Mary Bullock, died peacefully at her Hickory Hills Lane residence with her friends at her bedside on Thursday afternoon June 6, 2024. She was pronounced deceased at 12:55 p.m. by Gentiva Hospice of Livingston who had been assisting with her care. Ms. Bullock was age 60.

She was transported to the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home for arrangements. Ms. Bullock had requested to be cremated and that was completed at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood.

There are no services planned at this time in South Carthage, however her cremains will be interred in the Still Cemetery in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

She was one of four daughters born to the late John Porter Martin and Linda Frances Cherry Martin who died on June 20, 2004 at the age of 65 and was born Mary Ann Martin in Bowling Green in Warren County, Kentucky on March 25, 1963. 

She was preceded in death by two of her sisters, Jo Ann Martin Harris who died December 17, 2023 at the age of 64 and by Johnie “Foxie” Martin who died April 17, 2024 at the age of 59.

Ms. Bullock was a retired waitress for the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Lebanon.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Bullock of Fairmont, North Carolina; grandson, Gregory “Tiger Man’ Murphy Jr. also of Fairmont; sister, Elizabeth Martin Hobdy and husband Joe of Scottsville, Kentucky; niece, Christy Harris and her children, Isiah and Isabella McGregor of Frankfort, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Marty Harris of Carthage; special friends, Lisa Weiser and Kristie Silcox both of South  Carthage.
