Obit – Mrs. Julia Ruth Corley

Mrs. Julia Ruth Corley, age 89 of Alexandria, TN passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 in Murfreesboro, TN.

Ms. Corley was born on January 18, 1936 in Lebanon, TN to her parents, the late William Leonard & Sarah Ester Hancock. Ms. Corley graduated Lebanon High School and then married Billy Joe Corley in May 22,1957. She worked as a bookkeeper for DeKalb County Bank and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 50 years. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her Parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband, Billy Joe Corley, a Son, Tony Corley and several Brother and Sisters.

Survivors include 2 Sons, William Randal Corley of Chapel Hill, TN & James Quinn Corley of Smyrna, TN. Daughter, Kimberly (William) Turner of Smithville, TN. Grandchildren, Jonathan (Kelsey) Corley of Culleoka, TN, William Shane Corley of Spring Hill, TN, Melissa Ann Lloyd & Donald Eugene Lloyd both of Lewisburg, TN, Calef Corley of Nashville, TN, Chase Corley of Austin, TX, William Justin (Gabriella) Turner & Jordan Alexander Turner both of Smithville, TN. Great Grandchildren, William Landon Corley, Jonathan Raybon Corley, Calypso Leann Thompson, Kayleigh Michelle Corley, William Owen Corley, Draven West, Tristin Lampley, Piper Lampley, Jasmine Lloyd, Zayden Jacobson, Julia Grace Turner & William Grant Turner. Special Friends, Karl & Kathy Graves.

Ms. Corley’s remains rest at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria, TN. Funeral Services were conducted on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 1pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alive Hospice Center of Murfreesboro in memory of Ms. Corley.
