Obit – Miss Evelynn Hultin

A 3-month-old infant, Miss Evelynn Hultin, the daughter of Lee Thomas Hultin and Elizabeth Kristina Cooper, was pronounced deceased at 09:23 a.m. at the Highpoint Health – Riverview @ Ascension St. Thomas Emergency Room on Saturday morning January 17, 2026 apparently from sudden infant death syndrome. A call to Smith County E-911 was received on Saturday morning at 8:39 a.m. from the family’s Kennys Bend Lane home.

Miss Evelynn is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday afternoon January 29th at 1 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Ray officiating.

Visitation only on Thursday at Sanderson in Carthage from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service.

She was born Evelynn Grace Hultin on October 18, 2025 at the Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.

Surviving in addition to the parents are two brothers, Gregg and Nathan Hultin; maternal grandparents, Sarah Cooper Upchurch and Ricky Upchurch of the Popes Hill Community; paternal grandmother, Deborah Bresnan of Alexandria; maternal great-grandparents, Tommie Cooper of the Popes Hill Community, Kathleen Silcox of Lebanon, Bonnie and Steve Harville of the Chestnut Mound Community aunts and uncles, Rachel Alley, Randy, Cheyenne, Sierra, and Ricky (R. J.) Upchurch, Kristopher Branaham, Jaisen Kemp, Zarah and Zaiden Huff, Emily Taylor, Kanan Spurlock.
