Murder suspect to be extradited
By Eddie West Staff Writer
A man facing murder charges in Texas is expected to be extradited to that state this week.
The suspect was arrested following a pursuit along Interstate 40 and subsequent investigation conducted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and a Smith County Sheriffs Department deputy.
On January 24, Deputy Nathan Williams responded to a call reporting a state trooper was in a west bound pursuit of a man wanted out of Texas by the U.S. Marshals Service.
On the day of the arrest, the marshals service detected a “GPS ping”, identifying the suspect as driving west on Interstate 40 in Smith County.
