Obit – Mrs. Darlene Glennon

Mrs. Darlene Glennon age 75 of the Cato Community transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday afternoon June 6, 2024 at the home of her son at 11:30 a.m. surrounded by her family. The family had been lovingly assisted with Mrs. Glennon care during her illness by Gentiva Hospice of Livingston who pronounced her deceased at 12:41 p.m.

Mrs. Glennon was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and is scheduled to be cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood. There are no services for the public scheduled.

Mrs. Glennon was one of seven children of the late James Mac Bell who died at the age of 84 on April 7, 1997 and Margaret Elizabeth Hamilton Bell Timbs who died at the age of 92 on June 23, 2014.

Two brothers preceded her in death, an infant brother Larry Wayne Bell who died at 1 year of age on September 1, 1943 and James H. Bell who died June 30, 1976 at the age of 36. 

Mrs. Glennon was a 1966 graduate of Glencliff High School in Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Joseph Glennon III on January 5, 2002.

Mrs. Glennon was retired from the Clayton County Georgia Board of Education where she was the payroll clerk.

She was a non-denominational Christian.

She is survived by her son, Larry Wright and wife, Hartsville Postmaster, Tamara Wright of the Cato Community, Jamie Kesler and husband Brian of Jefferson, Georgia; four siblings, Margaret Akines of Nashville, Camilla Leas of Mount Juliet, Judy Binkley of Nashville, David Bell of Christiana, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Kaylyn Adams Dixon and husband Jordan of the Cato Community, Lauren Wright of Decatur, Alabama, Joey Wright of the Cato Community, Morgan, Emma, and Ian Kessler all of Jefferson, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Kady and Mabel Dixon.
