Obit – Mrs. Erlene Williams

Mrs. Erlene Williams, age 99, of Gordonsville, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Mrs. Williams was born March 12, 1925 in Brush Creek, TN, a daughter of the late Bob Lee Stewart and Edna Parker Stewart. She married Cordell “Trix” Williams on September 27, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1975. Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by Three Brothers; Infant Joe Stewart, J.R. Stewart, and Clyde Stewart.

Mrs. Williams worked as a farmer, raising cattle and tobacco. She also worked in the shirt factory for a short time. She enjoyed working outside. She will be remembered as a surrogate grandmother to many and a great mother-in-law. She loved her family above everything else except the Lord and her biggest joy was found in cooking them all Sunday lunch.

Mrs. Williams is survived by Daughter; Wanda Thompson of Gordonsville, TN. Son; Donald (Becky) Williams of Old Hickory, TN. Grandchildren; Starla Jo Thompson (Mike) Pitt , Tammy (Nigel) Williams Hope, and Donnie Earl (Brandi) Williams. Great-grandchildren; Jorgia Hope, Hannah Williams, Gage Pitt, and Emerson “Emmy” Pitt. Sister; Bobbie Jo Stewart Bush of Old Hickory, TN.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Williams were conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 1PM with Bro. Bobby Peoples officiating. Interment followed in the Gordonsville Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to COGOP Family Worship Center.
