Obit – Mrs. Ruby Webb Wilson White
Mrs. Ruby Webb Wilson White age 95, a longtime resident of the Tuckers Cross Roads Community in Wilson County, departed this life at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday evening February 12, 2025, at Quality Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Lebanon.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday afternoon February 17th at 1 p.m. with Eld. Junior Dickerson, Eld. Tim Lohorn and Bro. Frankie Downs officiating. Interment followed at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Smith County, July 29, 1929, one of six children of the late Robert Eddie Webb who died June 5, 1980 at the age of 77 and Lillian Atwood Webb who died in February of ’87 at 81 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years. Campbell Wilson who Ernest died December 2, 1999 at the age of 77 and by a step-son Randall Lee “Rudy” Wilson who died at the age of 59 on April 23, 2019.
She was also preceded in death by four of her siblings, James Robert Webb who died August 17, 2016 at the age of 89, Mary Bell Webb Winfree who died February 14, 2008 at the age of 86, Louise Webb Wilson who died March 9, 1988 at the age of 73, Florence Webb Ash who died June 20, 2022 at the age of 83.
She was a 1948 graduate of Smith County High School and transferred from the Lebanon High School in 1946 and majored in home economics, which she took all four years of high school, and was a member of the commercial club in 1947. Following high school graduation she attended Johnson’s Business School.
Mrs. White was baptized in the waters of Plunkett’s Creek by Eld. Ted Smith into the fellowship of Knob Spring Missionary Baptist Church in the Hiwassee Community.
Following her marriage to Eld. Edgar Leon White in 2001, she moved her membership to Old Paths Missionary Baptist Church in Lebanon where she remained a faithful member until her death.
She retired from Hartmann Luggage as Office Manager after thirty-five years of service.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-three years, Eld. Leon White; two step-grandchildren: Leah White and her daughter, Corleigh, Eli (Jennifer) White and their son, Lane; step-daughter-in-law, Diane White; brother, Edward (Judith) Webb; ten nephews, five nieces.
The family requests memorials to the Old Paths Missionary Baptist Church.
