Obit – Mr. K.C. Lackey

Wilson County native and Carthage resident, Mr. K. C. Lackey, was pronounced deceased at the Alive Hospice Residence in Murfreesboro on Monday May 12, 2025 at the age of 70.

Funeral services from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon were conducted by Tom Grant and Bro. Todd Lackey on Friday afternoon May 16th at 1 p.m.

Born John Robert Lackey in Lebanon on May 17, 1954, he was the son of the late Earl Thomas (Monk) Lackey who died at the age of 88 on November 20, 2009 and Emma Lucille (Lou) Shelton Lackey who died at the age of 75 on October 25, 1999.

Mr. Lackey was reared by his uncle and aunt, Charlie Lackey who died March 9, 1978 at the age of 61 and Fannie Warner Lackey who died December 29, 1992 at the age of 72.

His companion, Patsy Christian Lackey preceded him in death at the age of 58 on November 30, 2021.

Four siblings also preceded him in death, Vivian Lackey, William Earl “Monk” Lackey who did July 14, 2020 at the age of 76, James Lee “Red” Lackey Sr. who died February 12, 2008 at the age of 61, and Allen Louge “Dinky” Lackey who died February 20, 2006 at the age of 57.

As the owner of R & S Plumbing and Electric, he was a much sought after electrician.

He attended the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name in Lebanon.

In his pastime, he enjoyed playing softball, pool, and guitar.

Surviving are his four children, Angelo Nejo, Rodney Rogers, Mindy Enos, and Robert Lee Lackey; two step-children, Jacob Wright and Rachel Wright, sister, Betsy Davis, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
