Obit – Mr. Terry “Shoate” Reece

Mr. Terry “Shoate” Reece, of the Kempville Community died with his family present at 8:25 a.m. at the age of 66 on Wednesday morning, July 9, 2025 at his Martin Hollow Road home.  

Mr. Reece was at the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN and was cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood.

A Celebration of Life Service was conducted Saturday afternoon, July 19th from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Cordell Hull Dam Pavillon on Corps Lane in the Turkey Creek Community of Smith County.

He was preceded in death by: parents, John Henry Reece who died February 1, 1990 at the age of 57 and Naomi Annette Meadows Reece who died on September 28, 2019 at the age of 81 and was born Terry Reece in Carthage on October 14, 1958. 

For many years Mr. Reece was a self-employed construction worker and also had painting crews.

He loved being outdoors and living close to Cordell Hull Lake. He was an avid fisherman and so enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include: daughters, Brandie Stafford of Carthage, Terilyn Odle & husband, Nathan of Farmington, KY, Vanea Reece; son, Lewis Reece & wife, Jordan all of Carthage; grandchildren, Candice Stafford, Emilie Armstrong, Clayton Odle, Charlotte, Reagan, & Clara Reece; great-grandchildren, Blaine Hamlet, Emma-Jean Stafford, Nathaniel Armstrong, Jaxson Lancaster, Lilly Lancaster, & Charlie Stafford; special friend, Debbie Taylor; sisters, Shelia Lanier-Ross & husband, Steve of Cookeville, Lori Davenport & husband, Michael of Gainesboro; brothers, Glen Reece & wife, Patsy of Defeated, Stanley Reece of Baxter.
