Obit – Mrs. Judy Harris
With family members at her bedside, Mrs. Judy Harris, a homemaker of Carthage, answered the call from her heavenly father to come home at 6:20 p.m. Thursday evening August 14, 2025 at her Horizon Circle home. She was pronounced deceased at 8:13 p.m. by Amedisys Hospice of Murfreesboro at the age of 72.
Bro. Gordon Donahoe officiated at the 3 p.m. Monday afternoon August 18th memorial services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home.
One of eight children, she was born Judy Elaine Petroff in New London in Huron County, Ohio on November 24, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Nicholas Petroff and Virginia Ruth Westfall and was reared as the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Meade.
The three siblings preceding her in death were Keith Petroff, Johnny Petroff and Diane Hoyman.
Mrs. Harris was a graduate of New London High School in New London, Ohio and completed college for training as a dental hygienist.
In Cleveland, Ohio on June 17, 1972, she was united in marriage to Buffalo Valley Community native, James Morgan “Bud” Harris Sr. who preceded her in death on February 1, 2012 at the age of 85 almost thirty-nine years of marriage.
She was baptized on May 23, 2025 and attended the Riddleton Baptist Church.
Surviving is her five children, Brandy Harris Green and husband Chad of the Riddleton, Community, Robin Harris and fiancée Chris Smith of Winchester, Tennessee, Jimbo Harris and wife Shannon of Reno, Nevada, Heather Harris Robertson and husband Jack of South Carthage,
Megan Harris Erby and wife Gabi Erby of Carthage; sister, Cheryl Petroff of the Granville Community; three brothers, Nicholaas Petroff of New London, Ohio, Mike Petroff of Warsaw, Kentucky, Rick Petroff of Cleveland, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Joe Green and wife Becca, Brad Green all of the Riddleton Community, Nathan Hughes, Lillian Smith and Neeley Smith all of Winchester, Tennessee, Colin Gentner and Canaan Gertner both of South Carthage, Owen Harris, William Harris and Chloe Harris all three of Reno, Nevada; two great-grandchildren, Riley Mae Green and Hazel Elaine Green.
