Obit – Carolyn Francis Roberts
Carolyn Francis Roberts, aged 86, passed away peacefully with family on December 4, 2025, in Carthage, Tennessee at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Dee and (David) Manning where she had lived since 2020. Born on October 20, 1939, Carolyn was a beacon of love and service, deeply committed to the well-being of those around her. Her infectious laugh and radiant presence brought joy to every room.
Carolyn took pride in nurturing young minds as a preschool teacher, a career that reflected her kind-hearted nature. She was a graduate of Bellevue High School, where she was co-captain of the cheer team.
Her life was a testament to her faith in the Lord, guiding her in all her endeavors and relationships.
Carolyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, James David Roberts; and her parents, Mildred and Milford Collier. She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters, Dee (David) Manning and Kathryn (Chris) Humphrey; grandchildren, Christopher Humphrey, Summer Humphrey, Daniel (Vinnie Turocy) Flanigan, David (Jenny) Flanigan, and Michael Lankford. The family would also like to extend immense gratitude to Gentiva Hospice of Livingston Tennessee, especially Sheri Kinney and Audra Wright, for their compassionate care for Carolyn.
Funeral services were conducted by Kevin Thomas on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. A family-only viewing took place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by public visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Burial followed at Parker Fowlkes Cemetery in Burns, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made and sent to Parker-Fowlkes Cemetery: 1199 Moss Branch Rd Bon Aqua TN 37025 or to New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 592 Cookeville Hwy, Elmwood, TN 38560.
Carolyn’s life was a true embodiment of kindness and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
