Obit – Mrs. Aimee Cooper Shannon
Mrs. Aimee Cooper Shannon of the Rock City Community was discovered unresponsive in her River Bridge Road home on Fridy morning December 19, 2025. She was pronounced deceased at the Highpoint Health-Riverview Emergency Room at 1:57 a.m. Mrs. Shannon was 53 years of age.
The memorial services were officiated by the Chestnut Mound Missionary Baptist Church pastor, Eld. Adam Dawson, on Friday afternoon December 26th at 3 p.m. A private interment will be conducted for the family at a yet unspecified date at the Vinson Cemetery on Shepardsville Road in Jackson County.
She was born Aimee Novella Stanley in Atlanta in Fulton County, Georgia on February 11, 1972 and was the second of three children born to Mrs. Betty Lee Stanley Baker, who resides in the Rock City Community.
The father of Mrs. Shannon’s children, Jesse Wayne Cooper, passed from this life at the age of 31 on December 26, 1999.
Mrs. Shannon was a recipient of her General Education Degree and was a graduate of Tennessee College of Applied Sciences (TCAT) at Hartsville with a degree in Health Information Management.
Before becoming disabled, she was employed as a medical coder for Dr. Robert Woods in Lebanon.
Mrs. Shannon was an attendee of the Rome Baptist Church when health permitted.
Surviving in addition to her mother, Betty, she is survived by two daughters, Amanda Cooper Paxton and husband Matthew of Gordonsville, Jessie Cooper Thomas and husband Josh of the Elmwood Community; sister, Elizabeth Cooper and husband Walt of Cookeville; brother, Jamie Holditch and wife Deborah of the Rock City Community; ten grandchildren.
