Obit – Mr. Justin Shores

Mr. Justin Shores of Thompson Station in Williamson County departed this life at the too young of an age of 37 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He transitioned to his heavenly home unexpectedly from a lung infection on Monday December 22, 2025.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be conducted from the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home at 9090 TN Highway 100 in Nashville, 37221 on Saturday January 10th beginning at 1 p.m. 

The Shores family will receive friends at Harpeth Hills from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Born Justin Tyler Shores at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center on June 26, 1988, he grew up in the Tanglewood Community and was the son of Kirk Shores and Karen (Kaye) Shores of the Tanglewood Community and the brother of Kristen Shores of Spring Hill, Tennessee.

At the age of 9, he accepted Jesus into his life at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Carthage, a moment that shaped his faith and guided his compassionate journey. He was a man who loved life with an infectious enthusiasm, always eager to explore new places through his passion for traveling. Whether embarking on road trips across the country or discovering hidden gems abroad, Justin embraced every moment with joy and an open heart.

Above all, Justin possessed a warm and generous spirit that touched everyone around him. He had an extraordinary gift for putting others first, often going out of his way to offer support, kindness and encouragement to family, friends, colleagues, and even strangers. His selflessness was evident in every aspect of  his life, from quiet acts of compassion to his unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Professionally, Justin built a distinguished career in banking, beginning at Volunteer State Bank and advancing through roles at SunTrust Bank (now Truist), Pinnacle Financial Partners and Regions Bank, where he served as a Financial Relationship Consultant and Branch Team Leader. Most recently, he held the position of Assistant Vice President, Treasury and Relationship Manager at First Citizens National Bank in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Respected for his expertise in treasury services and relationship management, Justin was admired by colleagues and clients for his integrity, professionalism, and genuine care in helping others achieve financial stability.

Surviving in addition to his parents an sister is his grandmother, Mary Magaline Shrum Shores of the Tanglewood Community; his cherished fur babies, Murphy, Sammy, Harper and Mabel; many other family members, including aunts, uncles, and cousins, who will forever hold dear his radiant spirit and selfless love.

Justin will be deeply missed.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that you perform a random act of kindness or take a moment to make someone laugh today, as Justin always did.
