Obit – Mrs. Brittany Woodard

A 35-year-old Chattanooga resident and educator has died following years of heart complications. Mrs. Brittany Michelle Woodard went to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday morning January 13, 2026. She was surrounded by love, and she leaves behind a family who will carry her memory with them always. She was pronounced deceased on arrival at Memorial Hospital in Hixson.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. E.S.T. from the Clear Creek Church of Christ, where she and her husband were members and attended along with their two children. Josh Diggs officiated.

At Clear Creek she was a second-grade level Sunday School teacher, hoping that if they were later students at Boyd-Buchanan where she taught third grade, she would already know her students.

Additional funeral services were conducted in her hometown of Wetumpka, Alabama at the Thelma Baptist Church with Ken Hering officiating. The funeral service there was 3 p.m. C.S.T. on Monday afternoon January 19th and burial followed in the Pine View Memory Gardens in Wetumka.

Mrs. Woodard was a third-grade teacher at the Boyd-Buchanon School in Chattanooga.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Woodard and their two children, Trip and Braylen Woodard of Hixson, Tennessee; father Frank Wilder and wife Traci, mother, Bridget and Bo Lewis all of Watumpka, siblings, Drake Wilder, Hannah Lucas and husband Stewart, Jeremy Lewis and wife Denise, Adam Lewis and wife Britney; maternal grandparents, Brenda (MeMe) Howell and Jerry (Poppy) Howell, and Bishop Holladay; father-in law & mother-in-law, Henry and Jennifer Bush Woodard; sister in-law and brother-in-law, Cortney Woodard Dillard and husband Jake Dillard, all of Gordonsville; nephews, Rylee, Cori and Ronnie Dillard II, Brady, Carter, Layton, Lawson and Faye Marie Lewis; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many beloved family members and friends who loved and cared for her deeply.
