Obit – Mrs. Cindy Recob

Mrs. Cindy Recob age 66, a homemaker of the Horseshoe Bend Community, was pronounced deceased at 4:36 p.m. Saturday evening April 11, 2026 at the Highpoint Health – Riverview @ Ascension Saint Thomaas Medical Center in Carthage where she was admitted moments earlier with C.P.R. in progress.

Mrs. Recob was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where cremation arrangements were made for her to be cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood.

There will be no services or visitation in Tennessee.

Born Cynthia Lynn Smith in East Liverpool in Columbiana County, Ohio on January 8, 1960, she was one of two children of Mr. Robert Smith of Dillonvale, Ohio and the late Mrs. Shirley Burton Smith.

She was united in marriage to Akron, Ohio native, Darrell Carl Recob in Brimfield, Ohio on June 13, 1981.

Mrs. Recob was a 1978 graduate of Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio.

She retired in 2023 as a clerk at the gas center for Murphy Oil at the Carthage Wal-Mart.

Mrs. Recob was of the Pentecostal faith.

Following Mr. Recob’s career retirement from the military, they purchased the property on Horseshoe Bend Lane and relocated from the Luke Air Force Base in Buckeye, Arizona to Smith County in 2008.

Surviving in addition to her husband Darrell, of over forty-four years, are two children, Lisa Marie Campbell of Alliance, Ohio, Heather Renee Ramey and husband Dean of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Robert Smith Jr. of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren.
