Obit – Mrs. Linda Myers

A precious wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother has transitioned into the kingdom of her heavenly Father.

With her family at her bedside, Mrs. Linda Myers, age 81 of South Carthage, entered eternal rest at 2:01 p.m. Saturday afternoon May 30, 2026 at the family’s Bradford Hill Road home. She was pronounced deceased at 2:36 p.m. by Heather Long with Gentiva Hospice of Livingston.

Her longtime minister, Edward L. Anderson, officiated at the 11 a.m. Wednesday morning funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Garden of Everlasting Life at the Smith County Memorial Gardens.

The Myers family received friends on Tuesday June 2nd at Sanderson in Carthage from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time.

She was born Linda Carol Huffines at the former McFarland Hospital in Lebanon on January 22, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Eralso Walton Huffines who died April 3, 1961 at the age of 80 and Mary Bell Terry Huffines who died June 28, 1982 at the age of 76.

A sister, Doris Jean Huffines Douglas Trawick preceded her in death at the age of 87 on April 29, 2017 and a brother, Walter Darwin Huffines preceded her in death at the age of 80 on August 5, 2003.

Mrs. Myers attended Gordonsville High School.

At the Smith County Courthouse on July 26, 1969, she was united in marriage to Jackson County native Willie Blythe Myers. The ceremony was performed by then General Sessions Judge, W. H. (Henry) Matthews.

Mrs. Myers was a member of the Carthage Church of Christ.

She was a retiree of the Lux Time Division of Robertshaw Industries in Carthage.

Surviving in addition to her husband Blythe of almost fifty-seven years, is their son Steven Myers and his wife Mandi of South Carthage, Linda’s daughter, Denise Young of Sunbright, Tennessee; half-sister, Ann Moore of the Granville Community.; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
