MAN BREAKS IN ON WOMAN
A man has been charged with aggravated burglary after breaking into a woman’s residence in the Riddleton community.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday on Riddleton Circle.
The resident told sheriff’s department Deputy Kendra Kuntsman that at approximately 1:45 a.m. she was awakened by a loud noise on her back patio.
The woman told the deputy she looked out a window to see a man with no shirt lying face down on the ground.
The woman thought the man was sick and contacted 911.
While the woman was calling 911, the man “forced his way into the woman’s home through a back door, entering the kitchen”, according to Deputy Kuntsman’s offense report.
The woman told the deputy she asked the man to leave several times, but he kept asking her for water and told her not to contact police, according to the report.
After entering the home, the man, identified as Matthew Edward Madewell, 31, Carthage, noticed the home owner on the telephone and fled the house through a back door.
