SIX ARRESTED IN DRUG PROBE

An investigation conducted by the sheriff’s department into drug activity has resulted in the arrest of six people on multiple charges.

The investigation was conducted by Sgt. Junior Fields and Sgt. Dusty Hailey at a Clemons Circle residence in Carthage.

The investigation revealed the alleged sale and attempted purchase of prescription medication and marijuana.

According to sheriff’s department records, six people were charged in the investigation.

Two people were charged with selling the prescription medication and others were charged with attempting to purchase the various medications, records indicate.

According to an offense report, individuals sent text messages to a cell phone allegedly requesting certain types of prescription medication, marijuana and payment.

Medications requested included Xanax, Xanax bars, Oxycodone and marijuana.

Chandler Darlene Williams, 50, Carthage, was charged with felony criminal conspiracy and obtaining prescription by fraud.

Paul Anthony Williams was charged with felony criminal conspiracy and obtaining prescription by fraud.
