TWO ARRESTED AFTER CAR CRASHES AT BANK

Two people face charges after wrecking in a bank parking lot in Gordonsville after business hours.

Gordonsville Police Sgt. B.J. Jackson was dispatched to Smith County Bank where a vehicle had reportedly wrecked.

After arriving on the scene, the officer located Angela Sue Ratliff, 44, Westmoreland, “passed out behind the steering wheel of the vehicle”.

According to an arrest warrant filed by Sgt. Jackson, the vehicle had been doing “donuts in the front parking lot of the bank, left the pavement, traveling through the grass and struck a culvert before coming to rest”.

According to the arrest warrant, the officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol and once outside the vehicle Ratliff was unsteady on her feet and failed a field sobriety test.

Ratliff was charged with driving under the influence.
