METH MAKING MATERIALS, CHILD ABUSES CHARGES

A woman faces multiple child abuse charges after being charged with “promotion of methamphetamine”, following a sheriff’s department investigation.

Acting on a tip that “drug activity was going on at 134 Cookeville Highway”, Sgt Junior Fields and Sgt. Dusty Hailey went to the residence to speak with a female identified by police as Sandra Lankford, 44, Carthage.

Once inside the residence, officers noticed, sitting on the kitchen stove, a set of digital scales with coffee filters with a small amount of white powder substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to Sgt. Fields’ offense report.
