NEW HEART CARE CLINIC IN CARTHAGE

NEW HEART CARE CLINIC IN CARTHAGE

Residents now have a local option for heart care.

Tennessee Heart has opened a new clinic location in Carthage at the Riverview Regional Medical Center (Building 3) at 107 Healthcare Drive.

Tennessee Heart is based in Cookeville with cardiologists visiting Carthage each week on Thursday to see patients.

Tennessee Heart cardiologists currently seeing patients in Carthage are Stacy Brewington, M.D., and Matthew Sample, M.D.

Currently staffed with ten cardiologists and one electrophysiologist (heart rhythm specialist), Tennessee Heart originally opened in Cookeville in 1994 and has a patient base consisting of people from counties throughout the Upper Cumberland and southern Kentucky.

Establishing clinics in outlying areas surrounding Cookeville is a natural expansion for the group and for Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

“One of our initiatives in the past couple of years has been to improve access for our patients. To do that, we have focused on the development of new outreach clinics so that we can see our patients where they live rather than them having to drive all the way to Cookeville to see us for an office visit,” said Tim Fournet, MD, cardiologist with Tennessee Heart and CRMC.

“It’s just more convenient for the patient. We’re proud to say that we have eight outreach clinics across the Upper Cumberland and southern Kentucky.”
