HALLOWEEN EVENTS
For those looking to celebrate Halloween there are plenty of options for both children and adults this year.
Public trick-or-treating:
•The Smith County Library will be hosting its Halloween Trick-or-Treat on the Square, October 25. Children should be in costume and ready to go at 10 a.m. Trick-or-treaters will visit business in the downtown Carthage area.
•Jeepers Creepers Trunk or Treat will be held from 5-7 p.m., October 31, in downtown Carthage.
•Trick-or-treaters can gather on East Main Street around city hall in Gordonsville for the Gordonsville Halloween Bash from 5-8 p.m. The event will include candy, Touch-A-Truck, photo booth and other activities.
Haunted house:
Those looking for a spooky good time can check out Butcher Holler haunted house located next to Sav-Way in Carthage. The haunted house is a benefit for the Gordonsville High School baseball team and is open through October 31. Admission is $15 with a special price for groups of five or more. The event includes special nights for certain groups to receive discounts.
Halloween photos with pets:
Tractor Supply Company invites customers to attend a Halloween Pet Photography event at its Carthage store. The event will take place on Oct. 27, 2018 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at 59 Dixon Springs Hwy. A local photographer will be on site shooting Halloween-themed photos of customers’ four-legged family members and the first 25 customers who get their photo taken will also receive a free magnetic picture frame.
