PUBLIC NOTICE TOWN of CARTHAGE BOARD of ZONING APPEALS MEETING and PUBLIC HEARING The City of Carthage, owner of the property located at Beasley Ct. TOWN OF CARTHAGE INVITATION TO BID FOR CONSTRUCTION OF TURKEY CREEK STORAGE TANK Sealed Proposals for the construction of the Turkey Creek Storage Tank project will be received at the office of the Town of Carthage, 314 Spring Street, Carthage, Tennessee 37030, Attention: Mayor Sarah Smith, on or before 10:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 and immediately thereafter all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The project will include the following described construction: This project consists of constructing a new 60,000-gallon, ground level water storage tank and the removal of an existing 50,000-gallon welded steel tank (as an add-alternate item). Improvements are for the Town of Carthage. The existing tank shall remain in service at all times during the construction of the new tank. The construction and installation include materials, labor, equipment and all other items necessary to complete the work. Subject to the provisions of Chapter 6 of Title 62 of the Tennessee CodesAnnotated, the Contractor’s attention is directed to the Tennessee Codes Annotated Section 62-6-119 which states that it will be necessary for each bidder and their subcontractors to show evidence of a license before his bid will be considered and that the license number, expiration date, and that part of classification applying to the bid appear on the envelope containing the bid; otherwise the bid shall not be opened.The successful bidder shall be required to fully complete all work within 180 consecutive calendar days from and including the date to start work established in a written order from the Town of Carthage, Tennessee. The Town of Carthage, Tennessee reserves the right to reject any Proposal for failure to comply with all requirements of the notice or of any of the Contract Documents; however, it may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion.
