Obit – Matthew Climer
Master Matthew Climer age 9 of Carthage was pronounced deceased at 11:31 a.m. Saturday morning October 12, 2024 at the Highpoint Health – Riverview Emergency Room following an untimely vehicle accident at the family’s Fite Avenue East home.
Bro. Bernie Morris assisted Matthew’s pastor, Pastor Scott Nesbitt, at the 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon October 17th funeral services at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Fisher Family Cemetery in the Hiwassee Community.
He was born Matthew Allen Climer at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center on November 13, 2014 and was one of five children of Cleveland, Tennessee native Eric Lee Climer and Memphis, Tennessee native, the former Dee Ann Green.
Two siblings preceded Matthew in death. Angel Climer died October 15, 2013 at birth and Shalom Climer died at birth on November 13, 2017.
Also, preceding Matthew in death were his paternal great-grandmother, Delores Climer and his paternal great-grandfather, Amos Allen, and his maternal great-grandparents, Dr. Shelia Green and Don Green.
Matthew was home schooled and was in the fourth-grade level.
Matthew, God’s little Angel, was saved September 3, 2023 at the age of 8 and on October 3, 2023 was baptized by Pastor Scott Nesbitt into the full fellowship of the Church Without Walls, Gordonsville Campus.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his two brothers, Logan Daniel Climer and Andrew Lee Climer both of the home; paternal grandparents, Lindsey Climer and wife Gina of Anaheim, California, Paul Fields and wife Rhonda of the Elmwood Community; paternal great-grandparents, Claude (Papaw) Climer of Cleveland, TN, Cathy (Gigi) Allen also of the Elmwood Community; maternal aunt, Sarah (Saysay) Smith and husband Lindell (Unc) of Salt Lake City, Utah; paternal uncles and aunts, Steven Climer and wife Katie, Jacob Climer, Marissa (Missy) Navarro and husband Frank all of Anaheim, CA, Dale Dykes of Cleveland, TN.
