Smith Utility is making preparations to perform aggressive flushing of the distribution lines for Lebanon Hwy and Cookeville Hwy. During the week of April 28th, between the hours of 10pm and 4am, there will be low water pressure in these areas due to the high amount of flushing required to scour the water lines. PUBLIC NOTICE The Town of South Carthage will conduct a public hearing on Thursday May 1, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of this hearing is to solicit comments from the public on the passage of the following Ordinances: 1. ORDINANCE 25-446 MUNICIPAL FLOODPLAIN ZONING ORDINANCE: An ordinance adopted for the purpose of amending the Town of South Carthage of Smith County, Tennessee Municipal Zoning Ordinance Regulating Development within the corporate limits of South Carthage, Tennessee, to minimize danger to life and property due to flooding, and to maintain eligibility for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. 2. ORDINANCE 25-448 2024 DELINQUENT SEWER ACCOUNTS The hearing will be held in the Hughes Building on South Main Street. Following the public hearing the Town of South Carthage Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet in regular session. All interested citizens are encouraged to attend. Joey Nixon – Mayor
