HOME RUN KING

Shea Haile Courier Sports

The collegiate baseball journey for Joey Parliment included stops at Nashville’s Trevecca Nazarene University and Columbia State College (Columbia, Tennessee).

In his final collegiate appearance, the Gordonsville High baseball product and 2019 GHS graduate was crowned the “Trojan Home Run King”. Parliment blasted his 39th career homer, breaking the Trojans baseball program’s NCAA era home run record,  in Trevecca’s season ending loss to the University of Montevallo.

The 9-5 loss to the Falcons on March 5 ended Trevecca’s first ever Gulf South Conference Tournament appearance.

“Our coaches were trying to keep it a secret because they did not want me swinging for it every time I got in the box.”
