Obit – Mr. Donald Carter

Mr. Donald Carter, age 61 of Stonewall, TN passed away Wednesday November 19, 2025.

Donald was raised in the Stonewall community of Smith County. Mr. Carter was born August 18,1964 in Carthage, TN, son of the Geraldine Cummings Carter and the late Hosea Carter Sr. He was preceded in death by brothers: Hosea Carter Jr., Paul Wallace Carter, James Richard Carter and twin brother Ronald Carter. Donald was a 1982 graduate of Gordonsville High School where he was the valedictorian of his senior class. He went on to graduate from Tennessee Tech University majoring in electrical engineering. He went to work for Nasa, living in Hampton, VA working on projects for the space shuttles at the Langley Research Center. He was a faithful member of Ballard Chapel United Methodist Church.

Donald is survived by his mother: Mrs. Geraldine Cummings Carter of Stonewall, TN; brothers: Dwight (Elizabeth) Carter of Stonewall, TN, Herbert Felton Carter of Detroit, MI, and Larry (Billie) Carter of Lebanon, TN and sister-in-law Carolyn Bairy Carter of Carthage, TN.

Mr. Carter was at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes where the public came by on Tuesday November 25, 2025, from 10 AM until 5PM to pay their respect and sign the Register. There will be no public visitation or funeral service for the public. The Carter family will hold private services.
