Obit – Milburn Smith Rodgers III
Milburn Smith Rodgers III, age 62 of Algood, Tennessee, passed away on December 7, 2025 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born on March 12, 1963, in Smithville, Tennessee, he was the son of Milburn Rodgers II and Phyllis Bennett. Milburn was a man who dedicated his career to his community and country. After serving in the United States Air Force, he returned home to Tennessee, where he worked for the Algood City Police and later with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
When he wasn’t working, Milburn was happiest when he was out on the water with his wife Patty. He loved the lake and spent as much time on his boat as he possibly could. A devoted fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, he always looked forward to football season. Above all, Milburn loved Jesus and cherished his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Litchford Rodgers; his sons, Nickolas Rodgers (Bethany) and Matthew Rodgers; and his siblings, John Rodgers and Camilla Rodgers. He was the proud grandfather to Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Rodgers, and Asher Rodgers.
Family and friends were invited to gather for a visitation on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM till 3:00 PM at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home (100 E Church St, Smithville, TN 37166). A memorial service immediately followed at 3:00 PM.
