Obit – Mrs. Susan Elaine Goode
Mrs. Susan Elaine Goode of Lebanon died peacefully Thursday at the Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Lebanon at the age of 75. She was pronounced deceased at Midnight Friday morning January 30, 2026 by Gentiva Hospice of Lebanon.
Mrs. Goode was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where she had made arrangements to be cremated and that will be performed at Cumberland Family Services in Algood.
No services are planned at this time, but a memorial service with burial in the Smith County Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date.
She was born July 24, 1950 in the Fountainhead Community of Warren County and was the daughter of the late Joyce Hunter.
Mr. Goode was united in marriage to longtime Carthage resident Danny Clinton Goode at the Wilson County Courthouse on October 12, 2012.
She was a 1968 graduate of Warren County High School and was a home health nurse.
Her only child, a son, Randall Young died at the age of 26 from cancer on January 14, 2002.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three granddaughters, Shadie Elaine Young and Brandie Lynn Young both of Tullahoma, Shelbie Johnson of Decatur, Tennessee.
