Obit – Mrs. Yvonne Ferguson

Mrs. Yvonne Ferguson, a homemaker of Hermitage, went to be with her Lord and Savior with her family at her bedside at the age of 83 at 5:35 p.m. Sunday evening March 22, 2026. She had been a resident of the Brookdale Senior Living in Gallatin since September 5, 2025 and was under the care of Adoration Hospice of Madison.

A service to celebrate Mrs. Ferguson’s life was held on Saturday afternoon March 28th at 3 p.m. at the Neely’s Bend Baptist Church in Madison. Her son, Bro. Tommy Feguson, pastor of the Hickman Baptist Church, delivered the eulogies of remembrance. When scheduling is permitted, she will be buried with her late husband in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in West Nashville.

Mrs. Ferguson was born Yvonne Ballard in Oakdale in Allen County, Louisiana on October 11, 1942 and was the fourth of thirteen children of the late Timothy Ballard who died at the age of 86 on May 3, 1990 and Lidia Manuel Ballard who died at the age of 67 on November 12, 1981.

Mrs. Ferguson was a recipient of her General Education Degree.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Davidson County native Roy Milton Ferguson, who preceded her in death on February 10, 2006 at the age of 70.

Mrs. Ferguson was a devoted member of the Neeley’s Bend Baptist Church in Madison.

Surviving in addition to her son, Bro. Tommy and his wife Melanie of Carthage, is a daughter, Barbara Dyer of Lafayette; three siblings, Shannon Ballard and wife Nelda of Sulfur, Louisiana, Patricia Ballard Sealey and husband Glen of Oberlin, Louisiana, Mattie Richardson of Oakdale, Louisiana; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Ferguson family requests memorials to the Neely’s Bend Baptist Church.
