Obit – Mr. Ron Roeker

Life’s journey ended for Mr. Ron Roeker of the Hickman Community at 11:17 a.m. Thursday morning April 23, 2026 at the Highpoint-Health- Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin where he was admitted at 2:33 a.m. that morning and passed from complications of pneumonia. Mr. Roeker was 76.

Mr. Roeker is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and had pre-arranged to be cremated at Cumberland Family Services in Algood. Following cremation he will be entombed at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville.

No public services or visitation will be conducted.

Born Ronald Russ Roeker in Vallejo, California on February 7, 1950, he was the son of the late Louis Otto Roeker and Elizabeth Russ Roeker.

On May 19, 1986, he was united in marriage to California native, the former Catherine “Candy” Conyers in Minden, Nevada.

The family relocated to the Hickman Community from California in 2022.

Mr. Roeker was a 1967 graduate of the Vallejo High School in California and was a non-denominational Christian.

Mr. Roeker honorably served our country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army and was inducted into the military at Oakland, California on October 10, 1967 and was honorably discharged at Fort Lewis, Washington on August 31, 1970 with the rank of Specialist 4th Class after serving two years, ten month and twenty two days, of which nine months and two days was overseas in Vietnam as a heavy vehicle driver.

For his meritorious service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Cong Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Oak/S Bar and a Badge as M-14 Expert Badge.

He retired from the Iron Workers Union in 2010.

Surviving in addition to his wife of almost forty years are five children, Pamela Artan Price and husband Mark of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Heidi Lynette Vassey and husband Clay of Shelby, North Carolina, Adam Jesse Roeker and wife Brandy of Boiling Springs, North Carolina; Stacy Moffett and husband Sean of Vacaville, California, Harry Wolcott and wife Heather also of Vacaville; sister, Tami Lee and husband Bill of Pollick Pines, California; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
