Obit – Mr. Jody Roller

Mr. Jody Roller of the Turkey Creek Community was pronounced deceased at 3:23 p.m. Saturday afternoon May 09, 2026 at the Highpoint Health – Sumner Medical Center in Gallatin where he was admitted following transport from Highpoint Health – Riverview with Ascension Saint Thomas E. R. in Carthage to Sumner Regional on Saturday morning at 5:14 a.m. suffering from respiratory arrest. The 61 years of age Mr. Roller, suffered a heart episode and Smith County E-911 received a call for an ambulance to his home at 2:56 a.m. Saturday morning May 9th.

Mr. Roller was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and was scheduled to be cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood.

No public services will be conducted locally.

Mr. Roller was born Jody Scott Roller in Alexandria in Fairfax County, Virginia and was the son of the late Henry Edward Roller who died at the age of 83 in 2018 and Bettye Faye Scott Roller who died at the age of 75 on January 18, 2014.

Two sisters preceded him in death, Jacqueline Sue Roller who died January 19, 1984 at the age of 24 and Jamie Forrester.

He was united in marriage to Theresa Lorraine Domiano Yoakum on September 27, 2021 at the Smith County Clerk’s office by then Pastor Bernie Morris.

Mr. Roller was a 1983 graduate of the Woodbridge High School in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Mr. Roller retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation in 1991.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Theresa of only four and a half years, is a step daughter, Heather White and husband Jackie White Jr. of Hartsville; two step-sons, Travis Markillie and wife Kasey of the Buffalo Valley Community, Dylan Yoakum and wife Brooks of Cookeville; three daughters, Jacqueline (Jackie) Sullivan of Bethpage, Julie Clark and husband Karl Libby of the Outer Banks, North Carolina; Jasmine Fuentes and husband Johnny of Oahu, Hawaii; fifteen grandchildren.
