Obit – Mrs. Connie Slagle Bowman

Mrs. Connie Slagle Bowman of the Bradford Hill Community was called home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 61 on Saturday morning May 9, 2026. She was pronounced deceased at 10:27 a.m. at the Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital Emergency Department of apparent heart failure.

Mrs. Bowman was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and will be cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood. The family will conduct no public services.

Born Connie Jean Bowman in Carthage on August 4, 1964, she was one of six children of the late Cecil Ralph Slagle who died at the age of 80 on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2009 and Clio Bilbrey Slagle who died at the age of 84 on September 24, 2019.

Mrs. Bowman was united in marriage at the Smith County Courthouse to Carthage native Jackie Howard Bowman on December 7, 1984. 

Mrs. Bowman was a member of the 1982 graduating class at Gordonsville High School.

Mrs. Bowman had been a part of management at both the Gordonsville McDonalds and Carthage Hardees. 

She had attended both First Baptist Church Gordonsville and the New Middleton Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband Jackie of over forty-one years are their daughter, Jessica Elaine Bowman Mosley and husband Allen of the Pleasant Shade Community, and their son, U. S. Army Sgt. Justin Bowman and his wife Desiree of Fort Benning, Georgia; three sisters, Joyce Bane and husband Hubert of Gordonsville, Cathy Slagle of Carthage, Christine Chaffin of Montgomery, Alabama; two brothers, Buddy Slagle Jr. and husband Patricia of the Watervale Community, Jackie Slagle of Cookeville; four great-grandchildren.
