Claywell Case#80CH1-2026-PR-2943 Notice is hereby given that on the 5th day of May, 2026, Letters Testamentary in respect to the estate of Philip G. NOTICE Pursuant to Section 67-5-508, Tennessee Code Annotated, the property assessment records of Smith County will be available for public inspection at Suite 106 at the Turner Building of Smith County Courthouse Annex during normal business hours. Any person desiring to inspect these records may do so at the appointed time and place. The Smith County Board of Equalization will begin its annual session to examine and equalize the county assessments on June 1, 2026. THE BOARD WILL ACCEPT APPEALS FOR TAX YEAR 2026 ONLY UNTIL THE LAST DAY OF ITS 2026 REGULAR SESSION, WHICH WILL BE JUNE 8, 2026. The Board will meet each weekday from the hours of 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Suite 106 of Turner Bldg. of Smith County Courthouse Annex. Any owner of property who wishes to make a complaint or appeal to the County Board of Equalization must appear before said Board at this time personally or by personal appearance of an agent for the owner bearing the owner’s written authorization. Failure to appear and appeal an assessment will result in the assessment becoming final without further right of appeal.

PUBLIC NOTICE The Town of Carthage will having a public hearing on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 at 5:45 p.m. The hearing will be concerning city ordinance CO-20260514-2 – in regards to water/sewer, rate increase. The Town of Carthage will also be holding a special called meeting on June 25th, 2026 for the second reading of the budget due to the certified tax rate not being available until June 8. The meetings will take place at City Hall, 314 Spring Street, Carthage and is open to the public. Anyone that would like to speak during citizen’s concerns has to sign in upon arrival. The regularly schedule Carthage City Council meeting will follow the hearing on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 at 6:00 pm. Sam Gray, Mayor of Carthage

NOTICE TO BID The Smith County Board of Education is accepting bids for completion of Parking Lot Renovation at Smith Count VOTECH Building (former Carthage Save-A-Lot) SCBOE requests bidders submit bids with 2 options. Option 1: Repair/ paving and striping of parking area. Option 2: Repair/patch/ seal and striping of parking area.
