NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 5, Chapter 21, notice is hereby given that the Smith County Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on 8/10/26 at the Smith County Jail & Courts Facility in Carthage, Tennessee, concerning a proposed $0.45 property tax levy increase. Following the public hearing, the full Commission will hold a special called meeting for consideration of passage of the FY27 budget and any associated funding adjustments and resolutions. The proposed tax levy increase was submitted by the budget committee for public-notice purposes and without a positive recommendation. The full Commission must consider and determine the budget and any related funding action.
