Precision holiday lighting design; Business behind signs

By Eddie West Staff Writer

Most residents tend to wait until the Thanksgiving holiday passes before beginning outdoor Christmas lights and decorations go up.

With 60 or so homes to adorn with bright lights, decking the halls begins a little earlier for a local landscaping business.

As homeowners  across the county were transforming their yards and homes into festive Halloween displays in recent weeks, employees with Shaun’s Landscaping & Lighting have been stringing Christmas lights along the gutters and eaves of homes as well as trees and bushes as the arrival of Christmas 2025 nears.

Work for the most celebrated holiday of the year must begin as soon as October in order to accommodate an increasing list of customers.

Owned and operated by Sykes resident Shaun Webster, Shaun’s Landscaping & Lighting specializes in lawn care, such as mowing, as well as all types of landscaping projects including low voltage lighting for houses and businesses which keeps the company’s staff of three full-time employees and one part-time employee busy during spring, summer and early fall.

As outdoor work slows during the late fall and winter months, Webster decided to expand his business to include installation of Christmas lights.
