Two killed in horrific accident

Two people were killed in a “wrong way” wreck which occurred Sunday night on Interstate 40 near the Gordonsville Exit.

The two vehicle wreck occurred around 11:30 p.m., Sunday, in the east bound lanes at the 258.6 mile marker which is just east of the Gordonsville Exit.

When emergency responders arrived on the scene it was discovered the drivers of each vehicle were deceased.

The two vehicles struck head-on and there were no passengers in either vehicle.

The driver of a 2015 Honda CRV was identified as Chase Pulley, 21, California, according to the Tennessee Highway (THP) which investigated the incident.

Meanwhile, the driver of a second vehicle was identified as Breanna Sullivan, 20, a Tennessee resident. Sullivan was traveling in a 2024 Nissan Sentra.

According to THP, the vehicle driven by Pulley was “traveling west on Interstate 40 in the east bound lane and was in lane 1 or fast lane. Sullivan was traveling east on Interstate 40 in lane 1/fast lane. While traveling in the wrong direction, Pulley’s vehicle struck the vehicle driven by Sullivan head on in the fast lane at the 258.6 mile marker. After impact, Pulley’s vehicle came to an uncontrolled rest in lane 2/slow lane. Sullivan’s vehicle came to an uncontrolled rest partially in Lane 1/fast lane on the centerline facing south.
