Trousdale Co. 35, Smith Co. 7

CARTHAGE — The Smith County High School Owls football team welcomed Trousdale County last Friday night for their 2026 Homecoming. The Black-and-Gold had won four straight over the Yellow Jackets who had not won on the Owls’ turf since the 2005 season.

Trousdale Co. did not win a region game in 2024 or 2025. The Yellow Jackets last region win was October 13, 2023 at Monterey.

Trousdale Co. used a rugged rushing attack to power their offense in a 35-7 victory to improve to 3-3 overall while the Owls lost their fourth straight contest.

Once again the second half proved futile for the Owls as they were outscored 21-0 in the final two periods — which combined with their previous three second halves resulted in a 77-0 deficit. 

Smith Co. fell to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in Region 4-2A.
