ELISHA HIGH CELEBRATES 102 YEARS
Carthage resident Elisha High turned 102 on Tuesday (August 23).
During an interview for his 100th birthday in 2014, High shared some thoughts about becoming a Centenarian.
“I have always thought I would live a long time. I have tried to exercise and eat regularly, not eat too much which is hard to do,” High joked. “I never drank (alcohol), didn’t run around and got a good night’s sleep most every night.”
High defines a good night’s sleep as at least eight hours.
“I still try to eat regularly, not over do it. Just eat sufficiently. When I eat enough, I push it (plate) back,” said High. “I read the newspaper regularly and try to keep up with what’s going on.”
For his 100th birthday, High’s family and friends let him drive a bulldozer on one of the family’s farms.
