OBIT: Mr. Joe Beasley, Native Of The Riddleton Community

A Riddleton community native has died at the age of 92.

Mr. Joe Beasley, of Hermitage, died Friday morning, November 18, 2016, at Alive Hospice Skyline, Madison Campus.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, November 22nd from the Chapel of Hermitage Funeral Home on Shute Lane in Hermitage. His pastor, Mike Suits, officiated at the 1 p.m. services and burial was beside his beloved wife in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

Born Joe Anderson Beasley in the Cages Bend community on August 11, 1924, he was one of four children of the late Raymond Huggins Beasley, who died at the age of 76 on January 2, 1978, and Zelma Jane Taylor Beasley, who died at the age of 96 on August 11, 1996.

A sister, Mary Helen Beasley Elmore, preceded him in death on June 15, 1999 at the age of 65.

His loving wife of over sixty six years, Riddleton community native the former Laurine Gregory, died at the age of 86 on December 9, 2013.

He was a member of the 1943 graduating class of Smith County High School.

Mr. Beasley was a member and active in the fellowship of the Grace Nazarene Church in Pennington Bend near Opryland.

Family, friends, church and work were the cornerstone of Mr. Beasley’s life.

He retired from Central Cumberland Storage in 1995 with fifty two years of devoted service.

Surviving is his son, John Allen Beasley and wife, Margie, of Clarksville; sister, Linda Beasley McDonald of Riddleton; brother, Roy Allen Beasley and wife, Geneva Dodson Beasley, of Beasleys Bend.
