OBIT: Mr. Jonathan Markham, Age 31, Of Carthage
Mr. Jonathan Markham, age 31 of Carthage died at 7:06 p.m. Friday evening March 3, 3017 at his Walton Avenue home following an extended illness under the tender care of Gentiva Hospice.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon March 6th at 2 p.m. from the Carthage First Freewill Baptist Church in the Tanglewood Community with the church pastor Bro. Frank Bratcher officiating. Burial followed at the Hunter Memorial Park in Watertown.
The son of Rebecca Lee “Beckie” Tomlinson of Carthage and James Howard Markham of Alexandria, he was born Jonathan Matthew Markham in Lebanon on October 26, 1985.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Billy J. Tomlinson.
Mr. Markham was a graduate of Smith County High School and attended the Carthage First Freewill Baptist Church.
He was a construction worker specializing in brick and block masonry.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his companion, Ruth Ann Nesbitt of Carthage and son Matthew Raidyn Markham; sister, Dana Bare and husband Josh of the Grant Community; brother, James Adam Markham of Lebanon; maternal grandmother, Onalee Tomlinson of Lebanon; paternal grandparents, Lee and Delores Markham of Alexandria.
