Summertime Hoops

The county’s four high school basketball programs were able to experience some competition on the hardwood as the squads played multiple scrimmages last week before the beginning of the TSSAA (Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association) mandatory dead period on Monday, June 22. Dead period ends on Monday, July 6.

June is normally a busy month for prep basketball teams during their summer programs but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has hindered their ability to play games against other schools and conduct camps.

The COVID-19 outbreak has also made normal interactions between players and coaches  look different for the teams attempt to follow guidelines.
