Residents to go to polls next Thursday in election

 

Early voting in the August 6 election ends Saturday (August 1).

During full days, more than 100 residents are showing up at polls each day.

Through Saturday, a total of 1,233 residents voted early.

Here are the totals:

July 17—311 residents voted.

July 18—65 residents voted (half-day).

July 20—179 residents voted.

July 21—175 residents voted.

July 22—149 residents voted.

July 23—144 residents voted.

July 24—141 residents voted early.

July 25—69 residents voted early.

Of the total number voting early, 900 voted Republican and 307 voted Democrat.

Early Voting times, locations:

Early voting is being held at the following locations:

 Smith County Election Office (located at 122 Turner High Circle, Carthage)—

Monday-Friday—8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday—9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Late nights: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 28 and July 30.

 Gordonsville Municipal Building (located at 63 Main St. East, Gordonsville)—Wednesday—July 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday—July 30, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., late night

Friday, July 31, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday, August 1, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
