MOVING DAY

It was the biggest news in the Defeated community, Wednesday morning.

Several curious onlookers either stood or parked along the roadside in their vehicles on State Highway 85/Defeated Creek Highway in order to watch a two-story house being moved a short distance down the road to its current location.

Residents familiar with the structure say the house is more than one hundred years old and sat at the foot of what locals know as the  Devil’s Elbow.
