Obit – Mr. Ricky Albritton

Mr. Ricky Albritton age 60 of the Kempville Community suffered a fatal heart attack at his Kempville Highway home on Sunday morning July 28, 2024. He was pronounced deceased at 3:05 a.m. at the Highpoint Health – Riverview Emergency Room in Carthage at 3:05 a.m. Smith County E-911 received a call for assistance at 1:40 a.m. Sunday morning.

Mr. Albritton was at the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his services were conducted on Wednesday afternoon July 31st at 1 p.m. Eld. Michael Nesbitt and Bro. Johnny West officiated. Burial followed in the Holleman Family Cemetery on the Hord family farm in the Kempville Community.

Ricky was the sixth born of eight children, five daughters and three sons, of the late Alvin Franklin (Frank) Albritton Sr. who died June 24, 1993 at the age of 61 and Etter Mayzell Holmes Albritton who died November 3, 1987 at the age of 52 and was born William Ricky Albritton in Carthage on April 21, 1964

Two siblings preceded him in death, Linda Faye Albritton who died at the age of 3 days old on March 23, 1953 and Alvin Franklin (Frankie) Albritton Jr. who died February 7, 2020 at the age of 64.

Also preceding Mr. Albritton in death was a nephew, Pastor Johnathan Martin who died at the age of 36 on December 22, 2013.

Mr. Albritton was united in marriage December 22, 1981 by the late Bishop Alvin Hitchcock at the Carthage Church of God to Kempville Community native, the former Jonnie Lynn Hord.

He loved all things outdoors, hunting deer, squirrels, and was very skilled in his fishing passion and was a member of various fishing clubs including the Macon County Bass Club and John High’s fishing group. He once snared a 9 lb. 3 oz. Bass, which was a great accomplishment for him.

In December of 2015 he suffered a critical heart attack and that ceased his thirty year career at the William Bonnell Co. in Gordonsville. While there he was supervisor of the paint line.

He attended the Carthage Church of God as a young boy, and Mr. Albritton was of the Christian faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife Lynn of almost forty three years and his Mother-in-Law, the former Diane Holleman of the Kempville Community is a daughter, Casey Albritton Barnes and husband Dwayne of the Turkey Creek Community; three grandchildren, Lacey (Short Stuff), Will (Rooster), and Taylor (Short Britches) Barnes; five siblings, Debra Green of South Carthage, Shirley Albritton Martin and husband Johnny of the Defeated Creek Community, Shelby Albritton Shehane and husband Allen of the Tanglewood Community, Donald Albritton and wife Anna of the Brush Creek Community, Crissey Albritton Yarborough of South Carthage; brother-in-law, Rob Hord and wife Annette Nesbitt Hord of the Kempville Community.

The Albritton family has requested memorials to the Jordan Hackett Foundation.
