Obit – Ms. Beth Goolsby
Ms. Beth Goolsby, a homemaker of the Pleasant Shade Community, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon August 15, 2024 at her daughter’s Silo Lane home following a brief battle with cancer. She was pronounced deceased at 1:30 p.m. by Gentiva Hospice of Livingston who had been caring for her in her final days. Ms. Goolsby was 56 years of age.
Funeral services from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home will be conducted on Thursday afternoon August 22nd at 1 p.m. with Bro. Tim Frank officiating. Burial will follow in the Leeville Cemetery in the Leeville Community of Wilson County.
The Goolsby family will receive friends at Sanderson in Kempville only on Thursday August 22nd from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service.
She was born Elizabeth Anne Laine in Lebanon on January 4, 1968 and was the daughter of the late David Frank Laine Jr. who died May 18, 2017 at the age of 77 and the late Jean Marie Mackey Laine who died in January of 1971 at the age of 29.
Also preceding her in death was her step-mother, Coyalene of Lebanon.
Ms. Goolsby was preceded in death by a grandson, Dani-e Coty Mills who died at 2 years of age on February 23, 2022 and a brother, Timothy Dewayne “Tim” Watkins who died at the age of 62 on February 20, 2024.
Ms. Goolsby was a member of the 1986 graduating class at the Mount Juliet High School.
She attended the Carthage First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her seven children, Kayla Pewitt of Nashville, Laura Romero and husband Jose of Goodlettsville, Jeremy Pewitt of Nashville, Angel Pewitt of Jamestown, Dylan Likens of Carthage, Hailey Likens and fiancée Chase Stewart of the Halls Hill Community, Callie Goolsby of Carthage; sister, Angela Bolstead and husband John of Hermitage; two brothers, Troy Laine and Mike Watkins both of Lebanon; eight grandchildren.
