South Carthage house searched

Multiple drugs were located by law enforcement authorities after a search warrant was executed at a South Carthage residence.

The search warrant was obtained when a sheriffs department K-9 unit officer learned illegal drugs were allegedly being sold at the residence.

Multiple officers with the sheriffs department and Carthage Police Department were involved in the search which took place on Profitt Street, located off Highway 70.

During the search 43.4 grams of Fentanyl, six Suboxone strips, 25 Suboxone pills 2.08 grams of methamhetamine were located, according to an offense report filed by sheriffs K-9 officer Sgt. Junior Fields.

In addition, $700 in cash was located with the drugs and seized.

The investigation began when Sgt. Fields made a traffic stop and encountered an individual who  alleged he obtained one Suboxone pill per day for $20 from a male subject at the residence, according to Sgt. Fields’ report.
